A private ocean view residence, south of Copenhagen, in Karlslunde, facing Oresund.
The site gave certain restrictions to the building shape. The wish for framing the ocean view, alongside with the heights, closeness and orientation of the neighbouring buildings, gave a lot of directions as to designing the building. Also the way to entering the site and the house gave a direction to the house. One neighbouring house cast a long shade on our client’s site, which we aimed to avoid, by placing the morning and evening terraces free of this shade. The need for privacy also shaped the house.
The exterior cladding is black wood, like a traditional summer house, but here it’s been used for a permanent residence, with a high degree of detailing.
